Head of Grants & Impact
The Head of Grants & Impact will handle grant applications and reporting for grants. This will include searching for new grants that fit company's mission, applying for these grants, and managing reporting after having won grants. 36k-48k USD per annum
- Non Negotiable
- 7+ years of experience in grant sourcing, writing, and management.
- Development sector experience, either in public-private sector development, foundations, or larger NGOs - such as implementation organizations like Palladium, Dalberg.
- A proven ability to successfully manage multiple programs in the African development sector.
- What does the job involve?
- Keep an up-to-date pipeline tracker of all grants in process or won.
- Search for new grants that fit Jackfruit's mandate
- Complete applications for all grants found.
- Complete all reporting requirements for grants.
- Manage relationships with grant providers.
- Liaise with government contacts in Washington DC to manage relationships.
- Stay up to date on any developments in Jackfruit's progress or business model.
- Attend 50% of in-person days at Jackfruit's Nairobi office to stay abreast of all business developments.
- Manage deliverables for the USAID Catalyze program, Global School Forum's Impact at Scale Labs and any other emerging grant projects.
- Contribute to program design, planning and budgeting for a range of Jackfruit's social initiatives, including expansion of our financial solutions and support programs to new sectors and customer segments.
- Take the lead on designing and implementing Jackfruit's impact measurement and reporting strategy.
- Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Social Sciences, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in grant management, fund acquisition, and partnership management in the non-profit or development sector.
- Proven track record of securing and managing substantial grant funding.
- Strong understanding of the grant funding landscape and donor requirements.
- Particularly in the education and development sectors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including government officials and international donors.
- Experience in impact measurement and evaluation.
- Strategic thinking with the ability to lead program design and implementation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and grant management software.
